Woman to Woman: Event Recap

Last weekend, we gathered for our very first Woman to Woman event, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of amazing. We spent a beautiful day learning from, listening to, and fellowshipping with women from all walks of life. Our moms, aunties, sisters, and cousins were in the building—my real-life cousins even came through! Seeing so many incredible women travel from far and wide to be there truly warmed my heart.

Once everyone arrived and we got well acquainted, something incredible happened. Whew, the move of God in that room was powerful! It was as if something shifted in the atmosphere. From the soulful worship led by our very own Nashe to the powerful stories shared throughout the day, it was the true essence of sisterhood in action. We laughed, cried, and lifted each other up. It was a day filled with the kind of love and connection that only comes when women come together, intentionally, to support and uplift each other.

One of my biggest takeaways from the day came from what our aunties shared. Their wisdom was a breath of fresh air. They spoke life into situations I'm currently facing, reminding me that God's work is not finished yet. I walked away feeling encouraged and with a renewed sense of hope. It was like they were speaking directly to my soul, reminding me that no matter what I'm going through, I'm not alone, and there's a bigger plan at work.

And let’s not forget about the food! As always, The Jikoni outdid themselves with a special High Tea menu that left us all spoiled. From the beef sliders to the sweet potato meatballs, the array of sandwiches, and the sweet treats, every bite was delicious. The food was just as nourishing for the soul as it was for the body. There’s just something about sharing a meal that brings everyone closer together.

Oddly enough, this was the first time I hosted an event and truly felt present. I wasn't caught up in worrying about the logistics, what was happening next, or who was up next to speak. I was able to be fully in the moment, and that was a blessing in itself. Partnering with She Innovates and having my co-lead servant, Tiwi, covering one side while I covered the other made all the difference. There is real power in collaboration, and this event was a testament to that. I got to experience the day as a participant, not just an organizer, and that felt amazing.

The highlight of the day, hands down, was meeting so many new sisters. Talking, connecting, and sharing stories with our growing sisterhood brought so much joy to my heart. There’s nothing quite like that feeling of knowing you’ve found your people, your tribe. Each conversation, each connection, was like finding a new piece of a puzzle that made our community even stronger.

It was such a powerful and uplifting day that we’re already planning to do it again! Mark your calendars, ladies—we're turning it up a notch next year with a TWO-DAY retreat! Save the dates: August 22nd to August 23rd, 2025. We can't wait to see you all again and to welcome even more new faces into our sisterhood. If this past weekend was any indication, next year’s event will be even more incredible.

Until then, let’s keep this spirit of sisterhood alive. Let’s continue to encourage, uplift, and inspire each other. Here's to more moments like these, where we can come together, learn from one another, and experience the powerful move of God in our lives. See you next year, sisters!
